A huge THANK YOU to La Jolla Equestrian Center and Alice and Andy Giovannini for hosting our first 2010 East Bay Chapter Show in April!
Manager for Horse Placement, Events, Trainer Coordinator: Christine Rossi; Billing Kumaria Kuhn
Location:5901 Camino Tassajara, Pleasanton (Between Blackhawk and Dublin)
Approximate number of horses at facility: Approximately 65
Website:www.lajollaequestrian.net
Services offered – Lessons/Trainers/Round Pens/Turnouts/Blanketing/Clipping/Other: All of the above
Unique amenities: 30 acres of groomed bridle trails, permanent regulation dressage court, covered round pens, beautifully maintained grounds.
Philosophy and horse background of facility/owners/managers: Alice Giovannini’s love for horses has inspired her commitment to maintaining the best environment for horse and rider that is possible. Alice and Andy bred award winning Peruvian Pasos for many years before converting La Jolla into a boarding and training facility specializing in Dressage. We have recently added Event training to the mix with the addition of two event trainers.
Christine sees La Jolla running like a well oiled machine and helps to maintain the family run atmosphere by keeping clear communications between trainers, clientele and management.
Most challenging management task: Keeping the facility maintained at the highest quality.
Most rewarding experience being a facility owner/manager: Having happy healthy horses and a well run program where everyone communicates and helps each other.
Any future plans for improvements or expansion: We just added 30 acres of bridle paths. Will continue to improve arena footing.
Special events hosted at your facility: CDS East Bay Shows, Schooling Shows, monthly clinics with Jane Weatherwax, Brian Sabo and Heidi Gaian.
Additional comments: We endeavor to provide a happy, professional environment for the horse and rider at all levels of training.
