January 2011

Thank you Claire Vesely, for submitting this lovely impression of the Cavalia Event that recently visited the Bay Area!

Enter two spindly legged wonders of nature, two foals. Unperturbed by the big top, bright lights and gasps from spectators, these two little ones demonstrate the beauty and power of Cavalia. Frolicking around, free to run and mischievous as can be- carefully placed props are inquisitively upturned.

CavaliaWhat follows in this extraordinary show is simply breathtaking. With a combination of power and grace, excitement and honor, thrill and peace, Cavalia illustrates the unique bond between horse and man. With tricks of both human-kind and horse-kind, both daring and exhilarating, the crowd is left with mouths wide open, in awe. The speed and accuracy of this talented cast are a marvel of training. But, above all else, the beauty and nature of the horse shines high- the majesty, the soft eye, the deep respect for its trainer.

We can simply be left with the image of eight free and spirited stallions and geldings, all working in perfect unison, attentive to the whisper of a command. Thank you, Cavalia, for reminding us of why we so love horses and all that they give to us unconditionally.
