Congratulations and Good Luck in Kentucky to our East Bay Junior Representatives Ari Lopez and Corlander II, Maggie Charbonnet and Sipriano, Morgan Wolfe and Lunas!  Amazing accomplishment that out of eight representatives, three are members of East Bay CDS!  Best wishes and congratulations to ALL of the Junior and Young Riders going to Kentucky from the East Bay Chapter!

California Dressage Society To Provide Exclusive Coverage of Region 7 Teams from NAJYRC

Qualifying has concluded, entries are in, and teams throughout the country are preparing for the upcoming 2011 Adequan FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North, to be held July 25 – 31, 2011 in Lexington, KY. A complete team of Juniors and Young Riders, for a total of eight competitors, have been named to represent Region 7 at this international championship, including:

Due to 17 shows being canceled in light of the EHV outbreak,  

CDS has decided to lower the number of scores needed to qualify for 2011.  

 

California Dressage Society Junior Young Rider Championships

Junior Young Rider Championships will be held September 23-25 in Northern California at Murieta Equestrian Center, Rancho Murieta and September 16-18 in Southern California at Del Mar. Contacts are Michele Vaughn 916-869-7942 and Diana Muravez 760/728-6325.

A horse/rider combination must be a current member, as well as the owners, at the time scores are earned and must achieve the following for qualification at the various levels for the CDS Junior Championships. Qualifying cut-off date is (Sep. 11, 2011 north; Sept 11, 2011 south). Juniors and Young Riders may qualify at all levels.

Qualifying Scores Needed for 2011

Training Level 2 scores of 62% or better with two different judges

First Level       2 scores of 60% or better with two different judges

Second Level  2 scores of 57% or better with two different judges

Third Level      2 scores of 57% or better with two different judges

Fourth Level   2 scores of 57% or better with two different judges

FEI /JR            2 scores of 57% or better with two different judges

FEI /YR            2 scores of 57% or better with two different judges

Qualifying for the CDS Championships

The CDS Championship Show will be held October 6-9, 2011. The location will be Murieta Equestrian Center, Rancho Murieta, CA. The CDS Futurity will be held in conjunction with the CDS Championship Show. In order to qualify for the CDS Championships you must be a current CDS member. You must be a member in good standing at the time you earn your qualifying scores. Scores must be earned during the current show season at CDS recognized shows.  The qualifying dates are from Sept. 6, 2010 to Sept 4, 11. Two divisions will be offered at the CDS Championship Show: Open and Adult Amateur at Training through Intermediare I Levels and Grand Prix. Intermediare II and Freestyle classes are open divisions. Open Division: Open to all competitors. Adult Amateur Division: Open to competitors holding an USEF Adult Amateur card and who are 22 years of age and over. Juniors and Young Riders must enter the Open Division and qualify with Open Division scores. You need to declare your division at the time you enter the Championship Show. There will be no cross entering of divisions.

Rider and owner must be current CDS members in order for the scores to count.

A horse-rider combination must achieve the following for qualification for the CDS Championship Show: Qualifying Scores may be earned at any test of the level.

Training Level Am          4 scores 64% or better 3 different judges,

Horses must be at least four years of age  

Training Level Open      4 scores 66% or better 3 different judges,

Horses must be at least four years of age

Second Level/Am          4 scores 62% or better (any tests) 3 different judges

Second Level                 4 scores 64% or better (any tests) 3 different judges

Third Level/Am              4 scores 60% or better (any tests) 3 different judges
