The 2011 East Bay Annual Awards dinner was once again held at Bridges in San Ramon as the facility is stylish and very accommodating, offering a wide range of yummy appetizers and quality main dishes. The Annual Dinner Committee chaired by Diana Bicksler did an outstanding job coordinating all aspects of organizing this event and it proved to be an elegant, rewarding evening for all attendees.
The items donated to the Silent Auction this year were so diverse and amazing, the eager bidding started immediately! Generous donations items varied from a Pasadena 5 Star luxury getaway package, custom equine portraits, lovely equestrian attire, gourmet dining experiences, a collection of services donated by our East Bay Junior Riders, lesson packages, original artwork, and even a chic basket of Salon items and services! While members were able to enjoy the delicious appetizers, a glass of wine or champagne, we were treated to lovely live Jazz music provided by Tony Corman, Noah Schenker and Dave Tidball.
After the cocktail social and enthusiastic bidding on the numerous Silent Auction items, the attendees were seated to start enjoying their 3 course dinner and the evening program began with a welcome by Co-Chair, Amy Mezey then Linda Stalcup, introducing the Annual Awards Dinner Committee Chair, Diana Bicksler. Diana graciously thanked the distinctive efforts of all of her committee members whose teamwork and commitment made the event so successful:

As dessert was being served, Show and Awards Chair, Robin Katherman began the CDS East Bay Chapter 2010 Show Series High Point Awards presentation. It was very exciting to see our members achieve their Dressage goals and each recipient was presented with a lovely framed certificate and the overall high point award winners received embroidered East Bay logo saddle pads.
The East Bay Chapter is elated and grateful to have so many generous sponsors this past year. Co-Chair, and Sponsor Liaison, Amy Mezey, decided to forgo the Annual Sponsor Wine Raffle, and award each sponsor with a lovely bottle of wine! Amy humorously hinted that she could just not pass up the recent 5 Cent sale at Bev Mo and sponsors were delighted to select their own bottle of wine from the Awards Table.
Volunteering has its benefits in addition to contributing to your Chapter sponsored programs and shows, and each year Adult Amateurs who volunteer at East Bay events look forward to the Adult Amateur drawing hoping that their name will the drawn as the fortunate individual selected to attend the prestigious Adult Amateur Clinic. This year’s elite Clinician is Donna Richards, and Appointed Board Member, Jan Bauman was the lucky winner! Linda Stalcup, Michelle Rosenberg, Kristina McDougall and Kris Kalstrom are alternates. Furthermore, this year the Chapter held a raffle for an East Bay Professional who has generously volunteered their time, and the recipient of $100 to be contributed towards 2011 show and competition expenses, was Justine Wilson! Congratulations Jan and Justine!
Special Thanks!
